The Chausses Leggings
OurĀ Maille leggings are based on 12th century mailleĀ (colloquially, chainmail) leg defenses. Not many tangible examples of armor from thisĀ time still survives, but this design is based off of manuscript illustrations of the period that featured an open back tied to the leg, rather than the "stocking" variation that is commonly seen. A layer of linked chain rings was layered over a leather backing, then likely fastened toĀ a belt around the waist to stay suspended.
Our model is 5'8 and wearing a size S in high-waisted, regular inseam.
